Brute Beast

Jude 1:10 "But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves."

In the book of Jude verse 10, there is a reference to "speaking evil," aimed at describing "apostate teachers" who exhibit a brazen and self-centered demeanour, boasting about their perceived power and authority while critiquing matters beyond their understanding. These individuals are marked by their intellectual pride and lack of spiritual insight, being veiled by the influence of Satan (2 Cor. 4:4) and unable to grasp spiritual truths (1 Cor. 2:14). They are compared to unintelligent animals or "brute beast" in matters of spirituality (Philippians 3:19, 2 Peter 2:12), ultimately leading to their own downfall spiritually and morally. Our comprehension of heavenly authority is constrained, permitting us to only operate within the boundaries of our knowledge. We are given the privilege to invoke the name of Jesus and should seek divine guidance through prayer, as worldly knowledge falls short.

Drawing a vivid comparison to unintelligent animals or "brute beasts" in matters of spirituality, as seen in Philippians 3:19 and 2 Peter 2:12, these apostate teachers are depicted as careening towards their own spiritual and moral demise. It is a stark reminder that our understanding of heavenly authority is inherently limited, confining us to operate within the boundaries of our finite knowledge. However, amidst this spiritual warfare, we are bestowed with the sacred privilege of invoking the powerful name of Jesus and seeking divine guidance through fervent prayer. Join us as we study the book of Jude!
