Send Me!

It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple. Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. Isaiah 6:1-2

In the year that King Uzziah passed away, the prophet Isaiah had a profound vision of the Lord seated on a magnificent throne, his robe filling the entire Temple. Surrounding the Lord were awe-inspiring seraphim, each adorned with six wings. These celestial beings proclaimed the holiness of the Lord in a powerful chorus that reverberated through the Temple, declaring, "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!" The sheer magnitude of their voices shook the very foundations of the sacred place, while a thick cloud of smoke enveloped the surroundings.

Overwhelmed by the grandeur and purity of the divine presence, Isaiah was struck with a deep sense of unworthiness and confessed his sinful nature, acknowledging his impure lips and those of his people. However, in a moment of divine grace, one of the seraphim approached him with a burning coal from the altar, symbolizing the purification of his sins. Through this act, Isaiah's guilt was removed, and his transgressions were forgiven.

In the midst of this transcendent encounter, the Lord posed a question, asking who would be willing to carry his message to the people. In a moment of humility and readiness, Isaiah responded with unwavering faith, saying, "Here I am. Send me." This pivotal moment marked Isaiah's commissioning as a messenger of God, ready to fulfill the divine calling placed upon his life and serve as a conduit for the Lord's words to reach the hearts of the people. Like Isaiah, are you too ready to be used by God to spread the message of the Kingdom of God?Think about it!
